Test Facilities

In order to develop, test and evaluate new technologies and processes, we use several test facilities. In large and small pilot plants, tailored to each individual problem, we can give our customers the opportunity to test a product or a theory in reality.

At the plants we can experimentally validate solutions, from a technical, economic and environmental perspective.

This is where we can change the map of current knowledge.

Tomorrow's municipal water treatment technology
At the pilot plant Hammarby Sjöstadsverk we test and develop new solutions in several aerobic and anaerobic lines. In addition to water treatment systems we also have access to advanced processing lines for sludge handling. All our tests are performed with real water in a realistic environment.

Currently there is space available at Hammarby Sjöstadsverk for more partners or third part testing of technology or new modifications. Read more about the pilot plant here, and more about our services regarding water and sanitation here.

Innovative Chemical Engineering
At IVL´s experimental test facility at Valhallavägen, located in Stockholm, we can help customers and Clean Tech companies develop the best possible solutions for a large number of different processes, in our lab or on a pilot scale. We have access to the best technologies from around the world and can combine this with well-equipped analytical laboratories.

Examples of techniques used are ultra-filtration, nano-filtration, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, electrodialysis, crystallization, electrolysis and evaporation.

Examine the environmental impacts
We also have a test facility at Lake Gårda field station in Gothenburg. This plant offers unique opportunities to study environmental changes in a well-documented environment. We also use a number of small pilot plants out in the field.
