The European Commission has granted IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute funding to run the three-year LIFE+ project WEBAP. By aeration of oxygen-depleted bottom water layers, the pilot project aims to mitigate the problems with dead bottoms and algae blooms in the Baltic Sea.

In many cases, users of breathing protection equipment are not receiving the protection they need. This is the finding of a study completed recently by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. Although equipment defects were found in some cases, the main reason for the poor level of protection was insufficient knowledge of how to use the equipment.
