Air emissions and transport

We compile air emissions inventories and analyse the environmental impact of transport

An important part of our work is associated with Sweden´s international reporting obligations on air emissions, to for example the UNFCCC and the European Commission, for which we compile all the data, reporting tables and official reports, as partner of the Swedish Environmental Emissions Data Network (SMED). We also support companies, trade organisations, authorities, municipalities and county administrative boards with emissions inventories and to trace the sources of emissions.

When it comes to transport, we develop new tools for assessment of the environmental impact of freight and passenger transport, and associated external costs. A focus area is measurements of real-world emissions from road, sea and rail transport. Through a holistic approach in our analysis of transport´s emissions, fuel consumption, energy use, externals costs et cetera, we can support transport providers as well as shippers in improving the environmental performance of their logistics chains. Moreover, we carry out studies on optimisation of abatement costs for both air pollutants and greenhouse gases within all sectors.
